The Opalesence Mining claim consists of 16.8 acres and is located in Virgin Valley Nevada in the Sheldon Wildlife Mining District. It produces white, blue, and black precious Opals with and without fire. It also produces petrified wood. A mining shed is located on the claim

The mine has easy county and BLM road access and well marked corners which are recorded with the BLM. Opals and petrified wood are found at the surface and down to about twenty feet.. This is easy and low cost mining with little equipment required. The owner uses a small excavator to break down banks and a bulldozer for excavating pits which can be rented from a nearby rental company. This is located in a mine friendly State and there are almost no rules to mine here!
